Samsung is taking its iconic The Frame TV to the next level with the introduction of The Frame Pro, as reported by The Verge. Unveiled at CES 2025, the new model offers key upgrades in display technology, functionality, and design to maintain its edge in the design-focused TV market.
Now With Mini LED
The Frame Pro moves to Mini LED technology, promising improved brightness, contrast, and black levels. However, unlike traditional Mini LED TVs, Samsung places the LEDs along the bottom edge instead of behind the screen, which still functions like an edge-lit TV. While Samsung claims some level of local dimming, the real-world performance remains to be seen.
Additionally, Samsung has boosted the refresh rate to 144Hz, making The Frame Pro an appealing option for gamers. However, Dolby Vision support is still absent, which may disappoint some users.
Wireless Connectivity and Refined Design
The Frame Pro eliminates the thin cable connecting the TV to its breakout box. The Wireless One Connect Box now handles all HDMI and device inputs, operating wirelessly up to 10 meters away, providing a cleaner setup with less clutter. The TV retains its signature matte finish for a realistic art-like appearance, though this can slightly reduce display vibrancy.
AI Features
Samsung has packed The Frame Pro with advanced AI features, including Click to Search, which identifies actors, scenes, and even outfits onscreen. Other additions include Samsung Food, which provides recipes based on dishes displayed on TV, and Live Translate, which translates closed captions into multiple languages.
Price Pending
Samsung hasn’t disclosed pricing yet, promising more details closer to its spring 2025 launch. While these upgrades make The Frame Pro a standout option, its appeal will largely depend on whether Samsung can keep the price competitive.
